Receiving, framing, blocking, throwing, game-calling. Catcher-specific coaching at Powerhouse.
Catching is the position most often shortchanged in youth development โ coaches don’t know how to teach it, parents don’t know what to look for, and most batting cages can’t accommodate the equipment. Powerhouse offers dedicated catching lessons in our team cage area with a coach who actually catches and knows what to look at.
Sessions cover stance, glove position, receiving (low/middle/high targets), framing technique, blocking mechanics for low pitches, throwing footwork to second and third, pop times, and game-calling fundamentals. Travel ball catchers and HS varsity catchers especially benefit from indoor pop-time work.
